Tiffany Penix, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Tiffany and I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician with Countryside Animal Clinic since 2007. I graduated from Stautzenberger College with my associates degree in vet. med. In 2006.
I truly love where I work, and who I work with and believe we have the best team.
I am married to an amazing man and together we have one old girl Mimi (our Yorkie mix), 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. In my spare time you’ll find my husband and myself along with our old girl at our camper lounging and being lazy, but my favorite past time is having our grandson over for sleepovers. Their really is nothing better than being grandparents.
I have always enjoyed working with and around animals of all kinds. My love for animals has led me to volunteering and working at Nature’s Nursery and now here at Countryside. I am currently working on my veterinary technician degree but have a bachelor’s degree in Ecology from BGSU. My husband and I run a boarding stable and share our home with two dogs, some barn cats, a bunch of horses, and one snake named Sesame. I started riding horses when I was 5 and never looked back from that. I spend the majority of my free time riding my horses, Shine and Jr., on the trails and reading.
Equine Vet Assistant
Hi! My name is Lindsey and I have dreamed of having a career with horses since I was little. I have an associates degree in horse production and management from OSU’s Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster Ohio. I decided that I wanted to do more and went back to school to get a second associates degree in Veterinary Technician at Stautzenberger College in Maumee Ohio. I did my externship with Countryside Animal Clinic and decided I wanted to stay! I have three horses, one dog, one rabbit, three barn cats and a bearded dragon! My career goal is to get my equine nursing certification and specialize in equine nursing and rehabilitation. I still show my horse in hunters and jumpers when I can and enjoy spending time with my family and of course all my animals!
My name is Jenna and I graduated from International Business College in 2020 and I’m working on getting my license.
I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 ferrets.
In my spare time I like paddle boarding or going out on the jetskis.
Jason Sands, DVM
Dr. Jason Sands was born and raised in Findlay, OH, where he graduated from Cory Rawson High School, in 2013, and The University of Findlay, in 2017, with his BS in Biology and Animal Science. Dr. Sands was then accepted into the Class of 2021 at Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine, in Harrogate TN, where he received his DVM degree.
Dr. Sands always has had a passion for working in the animal industry from a young age, and as he grew, he developed a strong interest in the medical field as well. He then combined these two passions and discovered his dream of becoming a veterinarian. Although Dr. Sands has experience working in both the equine and bovine industries (University of Findlay English and Western farms and Boehm Dairy Farm in Hancock County) he is solely focused on small animal medicine. In addition to providing top tier care for his healthy and ill patients, Dr. Sands, is looking to expand his skills in both orthopedic surgery and the use of ultrasound for enhanced diagnostics.
Dr. Sands is a big believer in being active and getting involved in the community. He is very competitive and hopes to get back into coaching soccer in his near future. He is always down for playing in any pick-up game of any sport, golfing, weightlifting, or hiking with his Aussie, Hope. Dr. Sands is excited to be back in northwest OH, and he is very ecstatic with accepting a veterinarian position at Countryside Animal Clinic where he can be of service to both clients and their best friends.

I have lived on a farm my whole life where we have raised and sold cattle. Working with animals my entire life has definitely impacted my decision to go to school and further my education to help animals as much as possible! I have a dog named Charlie, a barn full of cats and baby calves, and two Indoor cats named Butch and Chaser. I recently just started working here at Countryside after I completed my externship here! I am working on getting my technician license as well! In my free time you can find me working on the farm or hanging out with all my fur babies at home!
